Halloween 2016

Halloween 2016 is in the books! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Halloween! And the best part is that my love is starting to rub off on Davis! We had fun decorating the house this year--we started a Halloween village and I think it will be fun over the years to add a little piece here and there.

Davis informed me in August that he would like to be a ninja. We went to the Halloween Spirit shop right when it opened in August and he picked out his costume. Jason just happened to be out of town so we had to FaceTime in Daddy to make sure that he approved of the Ninja costume. Davis thought it was awesome and was so excited to get to carry around swords with his costume.

I had a lot of joy getting the two of them dressed. It took me back to my childhood when I would get in from school on Halloween and rush my parents through dinner so we could get out and trick or treat.
 My porch:

I figure this will be the last year that I can pick Carter's costume for her sadly. She looks and acts so much like her buddy Ryan that Ryan's mom and I decided that they needed to be a couple costume--Pebbles and Bam Bam it was! I have always made her costumes but this year I actually purchased it (what a huge stress relief) and when it came in I was in love. It was precious on her!

"Hey Davis! Pose like a Ninja for mommy"

The back of the darling costume:
We had friends meeting up with us to go trick or treating. We really hadn't talked about what the boys were going to be--both boys were over joyed when they realized they were both ninjas!

Our crew! This is my favorite night of the year in our neighborhood. Everyone meets up for a group picture before the kids all scatter. The big kids usually take off--and this year Davis was with them! I was in the back with Carter and Ryan bringing up the rear!

 Somebody snuck a kiss:

And Bam Bam was NOT happy about it!

The ninjas "dabbing" when I asked for a photo:

We have started hiring a food truck for Halloween night. This has worked out perfectly and it allows us to not worry about trying to feed the kiddos before we head out to trick or treat.

Driving Carter to school on halloween she informed me that she wanted to be a cat--so I told her she could be a cat next year. I will be curious to see if she sticks with that or comes up with something totally new. This was the first year that Carter really "got" trick or treating. She LOVED it--she really got into saying trick or treat and she really loved the fact that she got candy as a result.

Davis enjoyed playing swords and football in the front yard with the big kids when we were done trick or treating. Even though it was a bummer to have it on a Monday night--it really ended up being a non-issue. We let the kids play and stay up late and just all pretended it was a Friday! It was worth the slow moving Tuesday for the blast everyone had Monday night.
