Merry Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas--more pictures to follow (most of the pics are on my mom's camera). We started fun new traditions with our little guy this year. We started the 12 days of Christmas (something my mom started with my brother and I growing up). Every night you get to open one of the boxes. In the box is a little note directing you to a present or to a family event. Here is Davis with his 12 days of Christmas board (my talented husband made this)...

One night the note said we would enjoy hot chocolate as a family. We learned that Davis LOVES chocolate--he is so my son!
Santa was very good to Davis. He left him these in his stocking:
Along with a new play table (Santa had Jason help with this). The top side of the table is chalk board paint which I foresee being used a ton in the future.
Davis got a monster ornament for his second Christmas
We enjoyed spending time as a family and with our extended family. More pics to follow!

December Craziness Continued...

I mentioned in the last post that we headed to San Antonio for two parties. Here are the pictures from party number two. My grandmother turned 90 and my mom threw a party in her honor. My Uncle and his entire crew came in from North Carolina to celebrate the occasion.
My grandmother and her four great-grandchildren. The cute red head is named after my grandmother!

December Craziness

We have had a crazy last couple of weeks. Last weekend we headed back to San Antonio for two big parties. Friday the San Antonio bar association through my dad a nice luncheon. I went early with my dad and got to watch him on the bench for the last time. It was very bittersweet for me as I have spent a lot of time watching my dad at work. I remember going to work with him as a little girl and knowing that I wanted to be just like him. I could not wait to be old enough to go to law school and become a lawyer--just like him. Hopefully, I will get to be a judge like him too!

Stay tuned for more updates!

Happy 1st Birthday Davis Monster!

A year ago today at 8:56 am my life forever changed! My little love bug joined our family making it even better. I cannot believe how fast a year has flown, it really seems like just yesterday I was calling the nurse asking her to bring my baby to me and explaining to her that I did not care that it was 3 am--I missed him :) If only I had known that I would not be sleeping for the next 3 months!

We started off little monster's birthday singing him Happy Birthday as I greeted him at his crib (at 5 am--he was excited to start his birthday). He headed to school and my mother-in-law came over to help me get ready for his monster bash! We had such a wonderful evening and felt so blessed to be reminded of how many people love our monster. The monster cake I made:

He loved it:

Davis made is to his first birthday without a single tooth in his mouth! Jason and I are convinced a tooth will show up at anytime. He is still enjoying his school and his teachers said he is a happy boy. He is starting to eat some solid foods and will devour anything chocolate. He is the light of our lives.
Happy Birthday my Love Bug!
