Christmas Holiday Fun

We have had so much preparing for Christmas this year--it sure is easier to enjoy the holidays without a newborn :)

Davis was really into helping us with the tree this year.  I love our tree this year--the bottom half are all the non-breakables. The top half of our Christmas tree has ornaments that Jason and I have been collecting since our honeymoon!
 Carter's awesome teacher did this:
We headed out to the club to meet Santa. Davis sat on his lap with no problem and told Santa his list:
1. "apple" race cars
2. a nurf bow and arrow

Carter was not impressed. She wanted no part of talking to Santa.

We had a great time decorating gingerbread houses in our culdesac.

We have also continued with our 12 days of Christmas tradition.
This year we have enjoyed Torchys, Christmas lights, game night, movie night and we still have a few fun surprises up our sleeves!

My "baby" is 5

When Jason teases Davis just a little too much, or is wrestling with him Davis loves to come over to me and say "mommy, he is messing with your baby."  Maybe it is because I constantly remind him that no matter how old he gets he will ALWAYS be my baby.  How would I describe my baby?
Happy! Talkative! Life lover! Sweet! Sensitive! and Silly, Silly, Silly! And now....5!

We started off his 5th birthday with church and then a trip to the donut store.  We had a picnic in the back of my car with all of Davis' favorite donuts.
We then headed to Davis' Superhero Birthday Party! Talk about excited! He wanted to skip lunch because he was so afraid that we would run late and miss his party.

Thank you to my wonderful mother in law and sister in law for the help in finishing superhero capes. 40 plus capes later....

Davis had the time of his life. He told me that it was his favorite party yet! He is such a joy to be around and wakes up every morning happy and ready to tackle the day. His excitement for life is infectious and he blesses my life every single day!

Polar Express

We kicked off the Christmas season this year with a trip to the Polar Express. It was the perfect way to get into the season. Davis was so excited to see the North Pole and talk to Santa Claus.

The four grandparents joined us and were awesome enough to all wear pajamas!

When we left the North Pole Davis became upset and started to cry. When I asked him why he was sad he told me that he had not gotten to talk to Santa-and how would Santa possibly know what was on his list?! Luckily, Santa just had not made it back to our car yet.
