Davis meet Elmo-take two!

Last weekend we headed back to San Antonio. Davis and I headed out a little early to celebrate my mom's retirement. I was a little concerned about flying alone with him but he was a perfect angel. Luckily, the flight from Houston to San Antonio is short and I did not have to take a ton because Jason drove over the next day!

Sunday we spent the day with my parents. Here is Davis sporting his Elmo crocs and new Elmo t-shirt:
We headed over to a playground where Davis showed Papa how to pour rocks on everything. He was FILTHY when we left the playground.
Here is my little man Saturday night after a fun day at SeaWorld/Hyatt Hill County Resort. His pajamas glow in the dark!
Once Jason arrived we headed over to the Hyatt (sorry the pictures are in reverse order). We met up with some of our favorite friends at the Hyatt. We played in the (not heated) lazy river until all the kid's lips were blue (parents of the year right here)! Friday night we had dinner in their nice dining room. It was a trip to see their faces when we walked with in with five kids under the age of 4. All of the kiddos did great at dinner. In fact, three of them-Davis included--fell asleep at the table!

Saturday we headed over to SeaWorld. Notice that someone fell asleep in his stroller:

We enjoyed a live performance with the crew from Sesame Street. Davis is still in a total Elmo/Sesame Street phase. He loves all things Sesame. He really enjoyed the show and insisted on watching it in Ms. Liz's lap.
He even sat in Elmo's lap without freaking out. Here he is trying to comfort his friend Ellen who was not impressed with Zoe:
We played on their great playground!

Dancing with our friend Caroline:
It was a fantastic trip! We feel so blessed to have friends with kids our age that we LOVE to be around. It was a wonderful weekend that we won't soon forget!

Design on a Dime-Before and After!

A few weeks ago Lauren and I headed to San Antonio for a little surprise. My mom and dad were on vacation with my in-laws in Europe. Lauren and I drove after work on a Friday with Davis, 4 dogs and a car FULL of stuff. We got into San Antonio late and started our project. For Christmas last year I told my dad I would help him re-do his study. I had never gotten around to doing it so we decided that while he was gone we would sneak into town and take care of it! It was A TOTAL BLAST. Lauren and I had so much and are trying to figure out how we can quit our jobs and open our party planning/design on a dime office :)

I wish we would have taken more pictures. But here are some of the before pics as we started taping: WALL TO THE LEFT OF ENTRY:

And here is the after: WALL OF ENTRY:

NEW SHELF DECOR:

We did not sleep for two days but it was worth it--my dad was totally shocked. He loved the new hardware on his old desk and the new color of the walls. I'll post a few more pics later. Thank you Lauren for all of your help, planning and executing, and all the late night funnies.

P.S. Favorite quote of the weekend--my 90 year old grandmother came over to hang out with us while we did this--at one point it was REALLY LATE. I was trying to get files back into the cabinet and I could not get them to fit. She turned to me and said "CRAMMIT DAMMIT!"
Hilarious. Especially coming from the church going grandmother who never cusses.

Davis, do you want to go to bed?

Of course, immediately after this I took him upstairs and put his pjs on him. I then started to rock him but he pointed to his crib. I said "do you want to get in your crib?" he nodded yes. So in his crib he went and he has been asleep since. This has been his newest thing-he no longer wants Jason and I to rock him-instead he points to his crib and asks to go to bed--smart kid!

Elmo!

Have I mentioned that we have an Elmo fan in our house?
This weekend Lauren bought Davis some Elmo crocs. To say that Davis was pumped is an understatement. I tried to get him to try on a new pair of tennis shoes and a new pair of church shoes-he FLIPPED OUT! No way was he taking off his Elmo crocs. I have never seen him so excited-he was running all over the store and the sales ladies were cracking up.

Thank you Lauren for the Elmo crocs:

Night Night

Davis was wide awake when we put him in his crib tonight. He has been talking to himself for about an hour. I could not resist sharing-it is way too cute!

Mommy/Davis Day

Yesterday was a mommy/Davis day.

We started the event by heading to Toys R US for new toys. You can see in the background our new shopping cart:
We headed to Memorial Park for some playground and swinging fun:

We stopped off at the mall to ride the carousel a few times:
And shared a bowl of chocolate ice cream from Marble Slab:
Then headed home and both collapsed!
