December Craziness Continued...
I mentioned in the last post that we headed to San Antonio for two parties. Here are the pictures from party number two. My grandmother turned 90 and my mom threw a party in her honor. My Uncle and his entire crew came in from North Carolina to celebrate the occasion.

We have had a crazy last couple of weeks. Last weekend we headed back to San Antonio for two big parties. Friday the San Antonio bar association through my dad a nice luncheon. I went early with my dad and got to watch him on the bench for the last time. It was very bittersweet for me as I have spent a lot of time watching my dad at work. I remember going to work with him as a little girl and knowing that I wanted to be just like him. I could not wait to be old enough to go to law school and become a lawyer--just like him. Hopefully, I will get to be a judge like him too!

Happy 1st Birthday Davis Monster!
A year ago today at 8:56 am my life forever changed! My little love bug joined our family making it even better. I cannot believe how fast a year has flown, it really seems like just yesterday I was calling the nurse asking her to bring my baby to me and explaining to her that I did not care that it was 3 am--I missed him :) If only I had known that I would not be sleeping for the next 3 months!
We started off little monster's birthday singing him Happy Birthday as I greeted him at his crib (at 5 am--he was excited to start his birthday). He headed to school and my mother-in-law came over to help me get ready for his monster bash! We had such a wonderful evening and felt so blessed to be reminded of how many people love our monster. The monster cake I made:

11 Months Old!
Davis turned 11 months old this week. Jason spent this past weekend at Notre Dame and so Davis and I headed over to Nana and Papa's for the weekend. Before he left town Davis started a new trick--he now walks holding on to his jeep! I was getting ready for work Friday morning when Jason yelled at me to come to the living room--check out the above video to see what I saw!
Davis can now do the sign for bottle, please and water. He has been saying "Dada" for some time but has added "mama" to his vocabulary. He is an excellent sleeper but is still fighting chronic ear infections which have made for a few early mornings. He is still mommy's cuddle bug and loves to be held.
I cannot believe that next month I will be doing a ONE YEAR update! Part of me is so sad that my little angel is growing up so fast but part of me gets excited with every new milestone he reaches. I still consider myself the most blessed mommy in the world. I have no idea what I did to deserve this amazing son but I thank GOD everyday for giving me my Davis!

Trick or Treat!
Davis decided to spend his first Halloween trick or treating at all the grandparents. So, we started by heading over to visit Grandad and Gil. Here is the little monster in the car:
This was the first stop on the trip. Grandad and Gil got a big kick when they opened their front door to this little monster:

We then headed to Aunt Lu and Uncle David's. This trick or treating thing can really take it out of a monster:
We then headed to Nana and Papa's:

Memaw Parker was there to greet Davis:
So was grandpa Larry:
Memaw Knecht and Uncle D were also there but somehow I missed a picture with them. Davis changed into his monster pjs at the end of the evening:

Compass Halloween Party
I have a problem. I admit it-- I love holidays. I love everything about them--decorating, spending time with family, getting time off from work--really, what's not to like?! I convinced Jason to let me throw a Halloween party for our wonderful Sunday School Class. If you watch Modern Family then you can appreciate how I wanted to decorate but Jason has his limits and vetoed the fog machine, coffin and scary sounds from the front porch. However, I think it was still a huge success. Here is the wreath I made:
