Happy Halloween Eve

Thank you Grammy for my monster shirt!

Monster Invades St. Luke's Pumpkin Patch

DON'T BE SCARED--It's me, Davis Monster!
Mom has been begging Dad for about a month to let her take me to the pumpkin patch. Sunday after church she got her wish and I am so glad she did!

NEBRASKA!

Two weekends ago Jason and I took a weekend trip to the exciting state of Nebraska. Jason's agency won a contest and so we got a free weekend away. We went to cheer on the Longhorns and it worked. Grammy was nice enough to come in for the weekend to take care of this little fan...
Nebraska has a neat tradition--the first time they score a point they release red balloons:
If I could figure out how to turn this picture I would...
We had a wonderful weekend. The Nebraska fans could not have been nicer--we tailgated with them before the game and they introduced Jason to "elk water." After the game we enjoyed a great dinner at Misty's where I got to eat dinner with a television star. Okay, maybe star might be a little overstated--Ethan, the dad from Quints by Suprise, ate dinner with Jason and I. We shared a table with a bunch of people to save on wait time. I was starstruck and Jason made fun of me the whole time. I did ask him how on Earth he left his wife at home with all of their kiddos--and I made him promise that she was going to get a weekend away soon!

10 Months Old!

Yesterday my love bug turned 10 months old! You can see that he is a tall baby and starting to look more like a little boy than a baby! I have no idea what his official stats are but he is getting heavy to carry around. He is still army crawling--I don't think he will ever crawl up on his knees--and he pulls up on EVERYTHING. He still loves to be held and would be perfectly content if we would carry him everywhere. We have discovered an area of Memorial Park with swings that are perfect for Davis, he loves to be outside.
Happy 10 months Davis monster!

NEW YORK CITY

Jason was sweet enough to allow my mom and I to head to NYC for a few days. Mom and I enjoyed our fourth annual trip to our favorite island. We shopped, shopped and shopped. We fit in a couple of shows--we saw Phantom of the Opera and A Little Night Music. I thought Phantom was fantastic, I could have lived without Night Music.
I feel like we wait all year to go on this trip and then we blink and it is over! Can't wait for next year....

Sunday Football....

I am afraid that I have lost my shopping partner....
He loved watching football today with Uncle Bubbi and dad.

9 months!

Does it get any cuter? I think not....
I cannot believe that my little love bug is nine months old! He is army crawling everywhere! He loves to make a beeline for the stairs. He loves to crawl over to the stairs and use them to push up. Baby gates are going up very soon! Last Friday Davis got a happy gram from school informing us that he had pulled himself up for the first time. The teacher told Jason that after pulling himself up he did a little dance while the teachers cheered!
Some other nine month facts--Davis is not a picky eater. He will eat everything--he loves apple juice out of the sippy cup and can sign "milk."
"Dada" is his very favorite and only word. I will look at him and say "mommy" and he will look right back at me and say "dada" with a huge grin. I tried to remind him that I carried him for nine months but he laughs harder and says "dada" again. Sheesh!

He can now sit up in the shopping cart. He loves to lounge while mom shops...
Davis LOVES bath time and anything to do with water. Sunday evenings Davis tends to get a little bit fussy. We have a baby who loves his routine. So by the end of the weekend he is a little cranky. It is not unusual to find Davis in the bath tub in the middle of the afternoon on Sundays--this always calms him down. We have even been over to Aunt Lu and Uncle David's spool a couple of times which HE LOVES!

Mom even let him try some ice cream! He could not get enough!
Here is Davis' new trick and a video of one of the last baths he took in his baby bath tub. We have graduated!

This weekend we are enjoying a lazy weekend at home--something we have not done in forever. We took Davis on our Saturday morning jog and then to his first trip to the Memorial Park playground. He took a few trips down the slide and spent some time on the swings. The rest of the weekend we plan on enjoying some family time! Hope you get to do the same!
