Disney: Day 2

Best day of the trip! Okay, I am going to say that about every day-but seriously! Our first day in the Magic Kingdom was magical! I love how they open up the park each morning. All the characters ride in on the train and Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse sing "Good Morning" to the crowd. They then drop the rope and allow everyone into the park. 

During the weeks leading up to the trip we asked Davis what he wanted his first ride to be at the park and he decided on Splash Mountain. So we headed straight for Splash Mountain and got right on...

He LOVED it. From there we explored Frontier land which included a ride on the Runaway Railroad. My mother-in-law's favorite memory of the trip was listening to Davis laugh on the rides. The faster the ride the more he liked it! 

We took a break after lunch every day and headed back to the hotel. Davis needed a nap bad!
This was perfect because at this point in the day the park was hot and crowded.

Davis is not familiar with Alice in Wonderland-but he still enjoyed getting her autograph and taking a photo with her and the white rabbit.

One of my favorite moments of the trip was when we used a fast pass to meet Mickey Mouse. It was so fun! Mickey Mouse actually talked. Backstory--we watch a lot of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in our house. So it was absolutely perfect that Mickey greeted Davis with a "Hi Pal" and then asked him if he knew the magic words! He then asked Davis to do the hotdog dance! We have a very cute video of Davis doing the hotdog dance with Mickey Mouse!

We ended the first day at the Magic Kingdom by watching the fireworks behind Cinderella's castle. It was a perfect ending to a perfect day.

DIsney: Day 1

We began planning our Disney trip in July of 2013. It seemed like May 2014 was a lifetime away-and now it has come and gone. It could not have been better and we had an amazing time. I sewed and monogrammed a bunch of outfits before we left (mostly for Carter).  We all gathered at the house early Sunday morning and headed out to the airport:

Both kids were angels on the plane. Carter slept the entire flight and Davis watched movies. We arrived in Orlando and were picked up by the Magic Express. Disney has thought of everything. We didn't have to worry about any of our luggage--they pick it up from the airport for you and deliver it to your room while you are out starting your vacation. 

 We immediately headed out to check out Downtown Disney. I was Davis was really excited to check out the toy store and the Lego store!

 They have a great deal at the toy store in Downtown Disney. Every Mr. Potato head part that you can fit in one box you get for $15. My mother-in-law and I spent forever trying to package the box just right to get the most for our money. We walked up to pay and the lady checking us out took one look at our packing and laughed. She proceeded to dump the contents of the box onto the counter while saying "you people need to learn how to pack." She repacked the box for us and we were able to fit a ton more in the box!

When we arrived back to the hotel (see monorail in the background, we had an awesome view) Captain Hook had left Davis a letter inviting him to Pirates and Pals that night.

This was a great way to start the first night of our trip. Before you sail out you get photo ops with Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. This Captain Hook, as you can tell from the pictures, was very animated and into his character. 

After mingling with them we then boarded a ship with a pirate. He sang songs with us and then drove us out onto the lake. First, we watched the water electrical parade. Then they started up some music on the boat to accompany the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom. We watched the entire fireworks show from Captain Hook's boat. I was really nervous about Davis being afraid of the fireworks but he did great. I think this was the perfect way to reintroduce him to fireworks because after this night he wanted to stay for the fireworks in the Magic Kingdom the rest of the trip.

Once we arrived back to the dock Peter Pan was waiting to greet our boat.

Carter was such a trooper. She woke up and watched the fireworks and then headed back to sleep.

It was an exciting and fun first day!

Catch Up

We have been very busy the last few months. Davis started soccer and is having a blast.

 During his first game he had a HUGE cheering section. Both sets of grandparents and an aunt and uncle. When he scored a goal you would have thought we were at a professional sporting event!

 We LOVE our neighborhood. Last Friday night was movie at the park. They do this once a month. We headed out with our picnic dinner and enjoyed perfect weather watching Frozen. Davis ditched us when he saw his soccer coach arrive. He insisted on sitting with his coach all night :)

 Carter is getting really good at holding her head up:

 We celebrated Palm Sunday today with the church picnic. Davis found the bounce house right away.

 And better late than never:

Carter is such a great baby. So sweet and content. I have been taking her to work with me on the weekends and she is such a chill baby. She hangs out in my office with me and makes the time fly by! I wish I could take her with me during the week too! She loves to cuddle and is starting to giggle more and more. She loves her big brother and the feeling is mutual. After Sunday School today Davis asked his teacher if he could have a second Easter egg "for my baby sister." My heart melted. I am so proud of him and how much he loves her. People ask all the time if he is jealous and he is not at all. He loves that little girl as much as we do!

Silly Davis

3 Months

Pardon the bad lighting but look who is three months old:

She decided for her three month trick she would roll over! I walked out of the room and when I came back in she was on her stomach. She did it once more before I finally caught her in the act. Unfortunately, this means I can't swaddle her anymore. Overall she is a very good sleeper and a very good baby. She started out very dramatic but has really calmed down. She only cries when she is hungry or when you take her out of the bath tub. She LOVES taking baths and can be upset but the minute I turn the water on she is happy.

She loves her big brother. Davis loves to help me wake her up in the morning. As soon as we walk in she is all smiles. She has started to giggle just a little and it is the sweetest sound in the world. I love my sweet girl.

Soccer

Davis started soccer yesterday and to say he was excited would be the understatement of the century. He was pumped! We headed over to Academy on Sunday so he could get some cleats and soccer apparel. He HAD to have the Batman and Superman soccer socks. 

 Jason picked him up from school early to head out to practice. I met them at the field and I asked Jason if Davis talked about soccer the entire way to practice. Jason said that Davis saw a green light at one point and said "Come on light! Stay green! I have to get to soccer practice."

 At one point they were doing drills and Davis informed the coach he would be right back because he was thirsty and needed water!

The team has six girls and two boys. They voted on their name and will be the Royals. So go Royals!
