3rd Annual "Hunt" Trip

We took our third annual trip with our awesome friends. I call this the "Hunt" trip because that is where we went the first two years. This year we headed to Lake Dunlap and had a ball as evidenced by this on the car ride home:
We spent the days playing in the backyard that over looked the lake. The boys loved the slip and slide, water guns and water balloon fights.

 We did some fishing
And Davis caught his first fish! He was sitting in my lap and we were learning how to reel in the line. I suddenly realized that there was something on the line! He was so proud of it and immediately told me "I want to show my daddy!"

Davis and Garrett had fun just being boys
Davis took his first ride on a jet ski

And swam and swam and swam!
The boys (who are about to be outnumbered)!

 The original crew

It is a job getting these kids to smile
The moms working our best to get a picture of the entire group
The whole crew with the three newest additions!
It was a wonderful trip. I had fun at night laying in bed with Davis just asking him about his day. One night we had a really cute conversation. I asked Davis "Davis, can I snuggle with you" and he said "Sure mommy" and then promptly said "you are my friend" and I told him that I was his best friend :)

It was also so fun to really watch him interact and play with the other boys. They carry on conversations with each other and actually play.

We can't wait for next year....

The Lake

We spent the past few days at the lake. It was not long enough but then again-it never is! Here are a couple of videos I wanted to share...

Yes, that is my son on the jet ski!

San Antonio Getaway

Jason played in a golf tournament last weekend in Boerne so Davis and I headed to San Antonio to visit Grammy & Papa.

Here is my sweet date for breakfast Friday morning. We were headed to Harper, Texas so I knew we could easily swing a stop at the Boerne Bakery. My grandmother used to bring us these sweet rolls every year for Christmas Day. They are about 10,000 calories but worth every bite :)

We headed up to Harper to visit Aunt Misty and Harper. Misty and I were teammates in college. We used to tease each other-she was the country mouse and I am in the city mouse. Now we are raising mini versions of ourselves! Davis loved having Harper show him around on the mule. And yes, sticking up is a gun which Misty told me was in case we crossed any snakes (why I live in the city).

Davis got to try out a tractor
And got to feed some goats
And then we headed down to the river to search for tadpoles. Davis thought I said we were fishing for donut holes and kept asking me if I had caught any!

It didn't take long for boys to be boys and wind up soaked. We gave in and let them strip down and play in the river.
 Snack time

We headed back home and enjoyed spending time with Mamo.
And then we both crashed! Davis rolled over and asked me if I was still there-then proceeded to put his arm over me and fall asleep.
Ladybug is loving life in San Antonio!
Saturday we headed out to SeaWorld! Direct quote "Mommy, I am so excited!" Can you tell?!
Davis LOVED riding the rides. He actually made my mom ride the Shamu roller coaster with him-my dad and I were convinced my mom was more scared than he was :)
Davis did not really care to watch any shows after he saw the splash zone fans get drenched. This really upset him. When we went to go to another show later he refused-he was scared to death he was going to get soaked.

We almost had a slight catastrophe when Elmo walked by and Davis couldn't get to him fast enough. Elmo was headed into this little house and I told Davis to run give him a high five. Problem was, Davis wasn't quite quick enough and Elmo slipped by. The worst was seeing my sweet boy turn to me and start to loose it-he was so upset he didn't get to high five Elmo. To Elmo's credit he turned around and let Davis give him a high five and a hug. Thank you to Elmo-he saved the day!

We had a blast in San Antonio!

Announcing!

Baby Knecht #2 will be joining us at Thanksgiving.
Already such a good looking baby:

My amazing SIL, who is incredibly talented, was gracious enough to bake us a cake. I'd love to know what the inside looks like...

This explains my lack of posting. I have never been so tired in my life. There have been several nights where I followed Davis to bed. Davis is so excited to be a big brother. He went with us to the first two ultrasounds and got to hear the heartbeat. He told Jason one night "when my brother or sister is here I am going to give them a bath and then put them to bed!"

We can't wait for November!

Summer

I usually dread summer. The Houston humidity is not something you get used to. The start to this summer has been mild. And for some reason I am more excited about this summer than years past. I think it has to do with the fact that my very favorite thing is swimming with Davis at the club.

He loves the pool but it wears him out!

We have really enjoyed swim lessons. We can literally walk to the lesson-it is so easy to get to. Here we are before swim yesterday playing on the driveway:

I am so proud of what a great job he has done at his lessons. One of the reasons I felt like it was so important to get him into swim lessons is because he has no fear. He is really, really close to swimming on his own. Check it out:

We have already spent a lot of time down at the pool. I see a lot more pool time in our future!

Yikes

Has it really been almost two months since I posted on this blog? Time flies when you are having fun.

We are finally all moved in and settling into our routine. It is wonderful to be back in a routine. It is also wonderful not commuting an hour plus each way to work everyday. Although, I do miss my built in babysitters :)

Here are a few pictures of the updated house. Here is the new entryway (if you remember there used to be a hall closet here) front door on the right:
Looking from the front door to the living room. The french doors on the right were added (it used to be a wall). The sunshine comes from the new outdoor patio. The outdoor patio was the old sunroom we ripped out:
New formal dining room. There used to be a wall on the right hand side that we ripped out:

And looking back towards the front door:
We LOVE our neighborhood. We can walk to the park!
We have really enjoyed our long driveway. We installed a gate so we never have to worry about little ones escaping!
This is standing upstairs looking down. I bought a small table with chairs and Davis likes to eat his breakfast at "his" table every morning.
We are close to downtown. Last week Davis and Daddy headed to the Astros game while mommy was at bible study. Davis had a BLAST. When Jason picked him up from school on Tuesday his teacher told Jason that all she heard from Davis all day long was how he was headed to the baseball game with his daddy that night.

And even though we don't live with Nana and Papa anymore, they still find time to spoil monster. He spent this past weekend with them so Jason and I could take an overdue vacation. While we were in Vegas we got this texted to us:
New Spiderman swimsuit and pool. Someone is in hog heaven. And on a side note, if you have nothing to do for July 4th I highly recommend heading to Vegas to see Garth Brooks. Jason and I thought he was incredible!
