Happy Father's Day Jason!

Happy Father's Day to my husband. There is a reason your little man wants to be just like you:

Father's Day at the golf course:
Jason you are an incredible father. I am amazed at your patience and loving attitude towards our son. I love watching the two of you together and I feel so blessed that you are the father of my son.

I love you!

And Happy Father's Day to the wonderful dads in my life-my wonderful dad, Bill, Grandad and Granpa Larry!

Happy Anniversary!

We decided to celebrate our anniversary by taking a little weekend trip as a family. It was AMAZING! We had the best.time.ever. Seriously. Anyway, we headed to San Antonio for the weekend and stayed at the J.W. Marriott. We have been talking about this trip to Davis for several weeks now. On Friday morning he woke up and said "Daddy, I go on trip, I excited!" Me too Monster! We headed out and arrived with a very excited little boy. He ran straight to the window and began demanding to go swimming! He literally ran down the hall to get to our hotel room to put his suit on.

Looking longingly at the pool complex:
View from our room:
They had a great kids pool with three slides that were perfect for Davis. They also had a lazy river and a big pool. Davis loved going from pool area to area. Friday night they had a movie in the pool and s'mores. Mommy and Davis roasting marshmallows:
Daddy and Davis watching the movie poolside:
The best gift of the trip was Davis sleeping until 6:45 am on Saturday. It was so appreciated! We told him leaving the pool Friday that he could swim ALL DAY Saturday. Literally the first words out of his mouth Saturday morning "I swim ALL DAY!"
They had a rubber ducky race Saturday morning. Here is Davis decorating his duck:

Jason made me a special duck:
Of course we had to take an ice cream break during the heat of the day:

Sweet daddy/son moment walking back to our room:
Saturday night my parents swung by the resort and picked up monster. We were able to have a nice dinner just the two of us. Sunday morning my parents brought Davis back to us--and by this point he was pretty worn out. He did not last long before this happened poolside:
Papa and Daddy golfed and then Papa joined Grammy and Davis in the pool:

Growing up both Jason and I have millions of amazing memories vacationing with our families.  Aside from teaching me the importance of God in my life, the second most important thing my parents taught me was the value of family. I have huge shoes to fill but I hope that Jason and I can impart those same values to Davis. This weekend was a great start--we made wonderful family memories!
Happy 7th Anniversary Jason-I love you so much!

Kiddie Park

Yesterday we headed to Kiddie Park. I have not been since my brother's third birthday party in 1983! It was perfect! Davis loved it. The park is geared towards toddlers so he could ride every ride by himself. Of course his favorite ride was the school bus:

The had boats that went around a circle:

 A carousel
 A merry go round:
 Popcorn:
 More boats:
 Airplanes:
And a mommy who loves her son more than anything!

CATCH UP

We have been fairly busy lately--spending a ton of time with family which has been awesome. A few weeks ago Memaw and Grandpa came into town. Davis had a ton of fun spending time with them and with his "cousins"

Two weeks ago hell froze, I mean my brother FINALLY proposed. I have been waiting for this night for YEARS! I am beyond thrilled, if you have spent any time with me at all you know that I totally love Lauren and can't believe I am blessed enough that shortly I will call her family (although, I have considered her family long before Scott popped the question). He had the most perfect proposal and was awesome enough to include the family in the celebration. Here is the happy couple right after the proposal...
 The group celebrating:
As if that was not great enough, a week later my brother (in law) asked his amazing girlfriend Lacey to marry him. Needless to say I am on cloud 9! I get two amazing sisters-I could not have asked for better girls to marry two of my favorite people. Derek asked Lacey by writing out a song and the words "Will you marry me?" on the bottom of a beautiful pair of boots (Lacey loves boots).
We also got to be a part of Lacey and Derek's celebration. While we were with them my parents watched Davis. My dad sent me this picture while we were at dinner:
Then to celebrate all the engagements Jason's parents through an awesome crawfish boil. Davis had a great time playing with everyone (especially Uncle Chris and Aunt Jilian who were visiting). Do you think he might look like Jason?!
We then spent mother's day at the zoo. We had a wonderful time--Memaw Knecht joined us for the zoo and lunch. Memaw and the Knecht men:
Now we have two weddings to plan!
