38 Weeks...Monday is the BIG day....

37 1/2 Weeks

Office Shower

Office Shower Cake

We are now 38 weeks and Davis will be joining us Monday! The Knecht household is busy, busy trying to get the last pieces of the nursery finished along with all of our Christmas shopping. We finally received the crib, dresser and chair this week. Thanks to my amazing mother-in-law we have the world's most beautiful bedding. I will post pictures are soon as the nursery is perfect. My division at the office threw Jason and I a very nice shower this past week. The food was fantastic and Davis' is now offically all set!
Last night we made our last babiesrus run pre-Davis. I think we finally have everything we need. As we were walking down one of the aisles I turned to Jason and said "You know we really have no idea what we are doing." So, in theory we are ready but we also know we have no clue what is about to hit us!
We are taking bets on how big/long etc. he is going to be--so for the record:

Samantha's guess: 7 pounds 2 ounces; 21 inches
Jason's guess: 7 pounds 6 ounes, 22 1/2 inches
So join the guessing game--the winner gets to change diapers for a week! Stay tuned for pictures from the nursery unveiling.

35 weeks...6 Pounds

Here are a few pictures from the Bible Study Shower:

We headed to Texas State for Halloween weekend. We had fun tailgating with all the college kids. It was an experience to be nearly 8 months pregnant and be surrounded by a bunch of frat boys. I felt pretty old!

Things are speeding up! I am starting to panic thinking not everything is done--especially when I went to the doctor today and she informed me that Davis now weighs six pounds! The doctor is concerned about my fluid level and thinks she might have to induce me early. I have mixed feelings about this--I love being pregnant! It is such a miracle to feel Davis move all the time--sometimes I will wake up in the middle of the night to him moving and turning. I know that he is safe right now too! Nobody can get to him without going through me! But on the other hand I cannot wait to meet him and see his precious face for the first time. I go back on Monday to see a specialist and hopefully he will be able to give us more insight as to when Davis will get to hit Earth.
The past 35 weeks have made me really thank GOD for my blessings. We have been surrounded by so many great friends and families at several showers. My friend Eileen is throwing me a shower for work friends and our amazing Sunday School class is throwing us a "stock the library shower." From the bottom of my heart thank you to all our friends and family who have really shown us so much love the past 35 weeks. We cannot wait to introduce you to baby Davis.

Things that weigh 4 pounds!

Jason and I--My belly at 31 weeks!

Two of the grandmothers at my shower

My mom, my grandmother and I

Things that weigh 4 pounds: laptops, small puppies, large squash and DAVIS! Yes, as of our 31 week appointment Davis now weighs 4 pounds. The doctor was very happy with how he is growing. He is moving more and more everyday--and his movement has gone from a light flutter to all out punching and kicking! Last night he moved so far over onto my right side that my stomach was out of proportion. My favorite thing to do is push on him and he will now push back--especially at night. I cannot believe in just about 6 weeks he will be here! I am so curious to see what he looks like.
Two weekends ago my family through me an AMAZING shower! It was one of the best days! I was surrounded by wonderful family and friends--I felt so blessed. I cannot wait to show Davis all the pictures and tell how how loved he is already.
This past weekend we went to San Marcos and suprised my mother-in-law for her birthday. We had a great time and bought part of the "going home" outfit. Davis is now the proud owner of a Santa hat and booties! Jason refuses to let me buy the Santa or Rudolph outfit so this seems like a good compromise. We tailgated at the Texas State game--and I have never felt so old. Being pregnant around a bunch of college kids was an experience. It made me miss college a little--until Davis kicked and I looked at Jason and thought "I am happy just where we are!"

28 1/2 Weeks!

HE MIGHT BE HERE BEFORE CHRISTMAS (How much would he kill me if I dressed him in this to come home from the hospital)!!!!!!
Time is really flying! We went to our 28 week appointment yesterday and it went great! Davis weighs 2 lbs and 13 ozs! Jason and I were able to see him but it is getting harder to tell what is what now! He is getting so big that he is a little more smushed in there!

The doctor said that he looks healthy and I am actually measuring 5 days ahead of my due date. After discussion with the doctor it looks like if Davis doesn't come on his own before the 39th week we will induce if he looks healthy!

I told the doctor I was concerned about his amount of movement because of course, before the visit he was so quiet for a couple of days. Then we get home last night and he won't stop moving-and now even as I type this he is moving all around and doing summersaults! The torture of his mother has begun already! He was breach yesterday when we saw him--which also made me laugh because up until this visit he has always been head down. So now that we are getting closer he wants to make things difficult!

We will continue to pray for healthy grow for little one and his quickly approaching arrival!

26 Weeks!

Davis,

I did not know it would be possible to love someone so much that I have never actually met! Today we are 26 weeks along! Not far off from the third trimester. So far every single day has been better than the last--I cannot believe what a blessing you already are! You are still not as active as I would like but you you are moving. You enjoy moving at night when I lay flat on my back or in the morning when I first get to work and sit down for the first time in my chair. You enjoy tricking your dad into thinking you will kick--the minute he puts his hand on my belly you stop moving--I can already tell we are going to make a good team! You have already made my stomach stick out so far that I can no longer paint my own toe nails--and I love every single second but I am a little sick of people asking if I am sure it's not twins or if I am sure about the December due date!

We finally bought your crib and dresser but still need to decide on your rocking chair. Dad suprised me and had your room painted while I was in NYC with Moo Moo. There is still so much to do so please continue to bake a little longer! I can't wait for my Christmas present this year,

Love, Your Mom

P.S. Your cousin Stephanie took this picture. She is starting up her own business and is so talented!

20 Weeks

Here I am with Davis Parker Knecht in NYC! Mom and I had a blast shopping and hanging out. It was a little harder for me to walk this time but we did not let that slow us down. I will update later with some more recent pics--I cannot believe I am already 25 weeks!

IT'S A BOY!

After waiting 20 weeks to have a final decision on what Baby Knecht is--we got it yesterday! The 20 week appointment could not have gone better! And we are SO thrilled to announce that we are having a baby boy! And already he is the cutest boy I have ever seen! He was so active in the ultrasound yesterday that the tech could not get a good picture of his heart for over an hour. Unlike the last two ultrasounds where he would NOT move, and sucked his thumb the entire time, this time he was so active (just like his Daddy already). It's confirmed!

Jason was totally freaked out by the 3d/4d images-but I think they are so cool! Here is a face shot (I told you he was good looking) and an arm up by his face. He had no problem showing us that he is all boy--but refused to move his hands away from his face so we could see a full on profile--already he is sick of the paparazzi!

A profile shot!

Another shot in 3d/4d of his arms crossed Profile
The most important thing is that the doctor says that he looks great--healthy already. She said if she didn't know my due date was December 27th she would have told me it was December 28th. I also asked her to search in my right rib cage area--something is going on up there--and sure enough--we found two cute feet! So his feet are already kicking me--we have a soccer player, sigh, on our hands!
